Bob Carlos Clarke was born in Ireland in 1950. He studied art and design at the West Sussex College of Art. After that he attended the London College of Printing and received his MA at the Royal College of Art. Clarke became famous in the end of 70-80’s particularly because of his books: “The Illustrated Delta of Venus” (1979), “Obsession” (1985), “The Dark Summer” (1985). At the same time the photographer was working on the commercial projects for Levi's, Agfa, Volkswagen, Pirelli, Smirnoff, UrbanStone and other brands. His photographic series for Wallis received a number of prizes as the best advertising. Bob Carlos Clarke created magnificent portraits of Rachel Weisz, Keith Richards, Dita Von Teese and other celebrities. His book “White Heat” (1990) demonstrated the work process of the famous chef Marco Pierre White. In 2003 Bob Carlos Clarke published his book “Shooting Sex”, which was an autobiography and the formulated core of the photographer’s creativity. In 2006 the great eccentric author died tragically.
